Azkali is a nation in southeastern Ukilen inhabited predominantly by kali members of the Azkali ethnic group. During most of its history, Azkali has been divided into hundreds of independent nation states and communities, but in recent times it was ruled by a federal republic called the State of Azkali. As of 2026, Azkali is currently made up of Otzeipao-Chekearoa, a Isithipsist-Ipraksist-Rimnist state formally known as the Grand Council of Otzeipao; the Atzoguiriki Republic or Lerrahai State, a parliamentary republic formally known as the Athi Protectorate of the Lerrahai State; and the Gaudanahi Movement, an anarchist sociopolitical movement and political body formally known as the Nation of Azkali. Under the terms of the 2026 Treaty of Otzeipao, the three states, while still remaining independent, have agreed to mutually cooperate in defense of Azkali and to establish trade and control-free borders within Azkali.

Evidence of kali habitation of what is known now as Azkali dates up to 90,000 BCE. The first Azkalis entered Azkali and settled Tsuhetzin in 11,000 BCE, transitioning from nomadic hunter-gatherer organization into Añarizke, the first organized city polities. The founding of Chekearoa, dated around 10,000 BCE, is typically cited as the "start" of Azkali civilization. Otzeipao was founded in 9,000 BCE and Moru in 8,500 BCE, and the Hidilgu-Añesi alliance, signed between Rizañi of Chekearoa and Nghirudda of Ngaiidaba, consumated the first alliance between the Azkali and the Hngatili. Azkalis spread across Ukilen and Brausia, establishing Tzutzaoge communities in virtually every modern day country in the region, though only the Kisesej-Keisetz region of Brausia remains predominantly Azkali today. The first state civilizations developed in Western Azkali in 4000 BCE, with the city states of Chekearoa, Huanati, and Otzeipao growing to control vast amounts of territory along the Talo coast. Interaction between humans and kalis began with conflict between Proto-Brausian tribes and Azkalis in present day Kalilonde, the Kingdom of Kalilonde being formed by the integration of communities of Azkalis into Proto-Oikan culture. While state societies developed and flourished in Western Azkali, stateless societies continued to predominate Azkali civilization in Southern Azkali and elsewhere. Ari Tauzkon united Chekearoa and Otzeipao in 3349 BCE, establishing the Heikiri Dynasty. Marked by thousands of years of stability, Azkali society flourished and was established as the most influential civilization in the world at that time. With the dynasty's collapse in the year 1181 CE, Azkali civilization was marked by a period of fragmentation and instability referred to as the Darker Years by contemporary historians. Azkali was soon overtaken by Loremese civilization during the Global Trade Era, and during this time nearly all of the Tzutzaoge communities across the world were abandoned or integrated into their surrounding nations, creating a vast diaspora of Azkali people across Brausia. With the spread of liberal ideals across Azkali, the Chekearoa Republic, one of the first liberal parliamentary repubics in history, was founded in 1722 AD, beginning the Seven States era of Azkali history, characterized by the geopolitical rivalry between seven states in Western and Southwest Azkali. Azkali nationalism was developed in Otzeipao in 1917 under the guidance of the All-Azkali National Congress and Turruist Peoples' Party, and grew in popularity across Western Azkali in the ensuing decades; Chekeaora united with Otzeipao in 1964, with Moru in 1965, and with Atzogui in 1966, with the State of Azkali being declared in 1967, a federal republic.

In 1979, the Ukilen Union invaded the State of Azkali, beginning the Smoldering of Azkali. Characterized by wanton brutality and crimes against sapientkind unrivalled in history, the Azkali population was halved due to the effects of genocide, plague, and slavery, with a vast diaspora of Azkali people being created in both the transportation of Azkalis into the Ukilen Union for slave labor and the Azkali refugee crisis. The population of Azkali dropped from a high of approximately 68 million in 1950 to 6.3 million in the 2008 Azkali census, with a community of 48 million Azkalis existing spread across countries across the world. The State of Azkali was reformed in 2005 following a period of anarchy and lawlessness, and was commonly referred to as the Second State of Azkali during its existance. The state was characterized by instability during its existance, and it was variously regarded by analysts as a failed state during its history. The State of Azkali experienced a military coup d'état in 2011, with democracy being reinstated in 2014, and a Turruist extremist dictatorship led by Korru Naru from late 2023 to early 2024, which launched an invasion of Kalilonde and exterminated nearly the human Azkali community, and approximately 150,000 Azkali kalis. Sunteria, the Ukilen Union, and Loremesia occupied Azkali from 2024 to late 2025, and formed the Republic of Azkali as a parliamentary republic, electing the Blue Star Front. The Republic of Azkali collapsed following leaked talks to consumate a unification with the Union of Xrwlis and Azkalis, perpetuating a brief era of societal collapse. Following the April 5th attacks in the Ukilen Union, Sunteria, and the UXA, Xrwli troops invaded and occupied much of Western Azkali, establishing Grand Council of Otzeipao; at nearly the same time, Athi troops launched an invasion of much of Southern Azkali and established the Lerrahai State. The anarchist communist Gaudanahi movement occupied territory inbetween the Xrwli and Athi zones of control, establishing the Nation of Azkali. The status quo remains with Azkali divided amongst these three zones of control, differentiated between ideological and social organization.
