Ukilen Union

Ukilen Union (Baphian: 1 Ujelinnu inpeta (pronunciation: [u´.dʑɛ̝.lin.nu in.pɛ̝.tä´]), Noellastani: (pronunciation: ), Jkawi: qirenèm insasir Qirenım İnsasir (pronunciation: [qireˈnəm insaˈsir]), Azkali: Pameachedi (pronunciation: [pa.me.ace.ði], Hallusian: ), commonly known by many names including Baphia, Noellastan, Yamahat, and others, is a country that spans the vast majority of Ukilen and most of Northern Ukilen. It borders Sunteria, Azkali, Northern Azkali, and Jkawi, and shares maritime borders with Hallei.

Baphia has over 650 million people within its borders and is the most populated country in the world, as well as having the most densely populated city in the world, Turku. About Half of the country is desert with the other half being either steppe, pine forest, swamp or tundra in their respective regions. The country is not very mountainous, with the only mountains being around Turku and near the Azkali border. Baphia is currently experiencing a 4th baby boom due to returning soldiers from the 3rd Bapho-Azkali war.

History

Prehistory

Settlement

Baphia has had occupants' sense at least 4500 BC if not sooner, some estimates even say as early as 7000 BC. During initial occupation of Baphia, only Kalis and proto-Kaneeds had settled in the area. Many proto-Kaneeds went north to Jyosti and settled there. The first archaeologically attested wave of migrations is sometime in 5000 BC from what is now Azkali and Yamahat. The first permanent settlement was around where modern Bongsibon is today, some argue that Bongsibon is this first permanent settlement in Ukilen. Sometime in 2500 BC, Kaneeds from the north began to come south and settle in modern day Kzmr and slowly became what are now known as Xeric Kaneed [CHANGE!!]. Soon after another wave of Kaneed migration from Jyosti and Modern day Azkali slowly made Kaneed become the majority in northern Ukilen. Many of the tribes were spread out and soon issues with resources in the desert and steppe arose, this eventually lead to the tribe wars.

Tribe wars

As things grew peaceful and people began to settle, many Kaneed and Kali tribes began to fight with each other over the limited resources of use to them at the time, as there weren't many faunae in the deserts and steppes. The first tribe wars lasted a few decades, sense the wars are very under documented, and no one knows what the first battle was, its incredibly hard to say when they started, but we know it ended with the Yaxam treaty in 1532 BCE, which made 12 families and tribes grow to prominence and control all of Northern Ukilen.

Raid of Bongsibon

The raid of Bongsibon, the Bongsibon wars, were a series of concurrent raids from the west of Ukilen, primarily from Xeric and Baphian kaneed tribes to the city of Bongsibon, that led to kali migration across all of northern Ukilen. The raids have a lot of pop cultural significance these days, with many operas and plays being set in the era. The raids began around 100 CE and ended around 250 CE. Even though it is a very popular topic in historical fiction, not much is concretely known about the raids.

Settlement of Turku

The settlement of Turku is drenched in myths and legends. The first archaeological attestments of settlement occuring in the Turku basin are before even the Tribe wars. The first recorded mention of a city called Turku was by placeholder in their book placeholder, which claimed "It was quite the sight to see Kali and Kaneed getting a long". The city was primarily a port city, but ever sense the leader of the Norle tribe made it the capital, it soon exploded to being a metropolis even back then. Turku quickly became the cultural, and economic capital of the Norle tribe.

The 12 Tribes wars

The 12 Tribes wars was a series of battles and wars across the 12 remaining tribes of northern Ukilen. It is generally considered the dark ages of the region due to how unintelligent the people were compared to not even 100 years ago due to the constant battling. The wars lasted about 200 years, ending around 600 CE. The war ended with 2 tribes reigning the whole north due to a series of treaties of both tribes, the Norle family to the west, and the Yamahat to the east.

Peace Era

The Peace era is a stretch of about a millennia where nothing really bad like wars and such happened in Ukilen. Despite writting haven been invented long before, not a whole lot is known about specific events.

During the peace era, the arts absoloutely flourished, and many books, plays, and art that are known as classical and heavily revered today, where created at this time. The 4 great Baphian novels, Andirosa, Journey to Bongsibon, Xagwen, and Erwiske, were also written during this time.

Some say the peace era didn't really end until the first Bapho-Azkali war in 1980, but some argue it slowly went down hill after around the 1700s with the start of the Wars of Rule.

The Wars of Rule is a century long conflict about who has the true right over the land the Norle family.

Contemporary History

Formation

The formation of modern day Baphia was peaceful but sudden, with the Yamahat monarchy collapsing after the conclusion of the Wars of Rule and cede their land to the Norle Family, with the exceptions of Jyosti, Hallei, Pyatle, and Sakle, would shape what most of modern Baphia would look like.

The government being split into 4 constituent countries, also called courts, Baphia Minor, Yamahat, Ikeve, and Daquđran. Jyosti, Hallei, Pyatle, and Sakle would soon become their own courts in the union
