Azkali Democide
The Azkali Democide was the indiscriminant killing of Azkali citizens by the Society of the Yellow Dragon, commanded by Korru Mezenas Naaru. Under Korru's roughly 3 month long reign, between 250,000 and 400,000 Azkali citizens were murdered, between roughly 4.3 and 7 percent of the nation's population at the time, representing one of the most brutal and quick democides in history. During the Azkali Democide, life expectancy in Azkali briefly dropped to below the age of 30, the lowest in the world. Global life expectancy dropped by approximately 4 years.

The Azkali Democide began on Christmas Day, 2023, following the coup d'etat of Korru Mezenas Naaru. Prepared beforehand, approximately 8,000 viruses, i.e "intellectuals, political enemies, enemies of our organization [the Society of the Yellow Dragon], of the State, and members of the present government"[1] were murdered or enslaved immediately after Korru gained power. Following the elimination of these peoples, the Azkali populace was brutally oppressed over the next several months. Following the declaration of war upon Sunteria, Tens of thousands of Azkali citizens were kidnapped and used as shields in combat, with only 12 of these "kali shields" surviving the war.
