Mâlbondə

Mallia, officially the People's Federal Republic of Mallia; is a federal republic in the south of Aeruvia. It borders Traule and Kgokkonitlag to the north, has maritime borders with Cring to the west, and has a joint colony (Bassau) with Alloti.

Mallia consists of three regions, Campebant (Campəbânt), Lindeburg (Lindəburg), and Teschrype (Təschrijpə). Each of Mallia's three capitals lie in a different region.

History

Prior to Mallia's formation, the three regions were their own independent countries. Teschrype was known as The Most Serene Republic of Teschrype; Campebant as the Principality of Campebant; and Lindeburg as the Duchy of Lindeburg.

Geography

The mountains seperating Lindeburg and Teschrype are known as the Wiechaün /ʋi.xɑu.ən/.

Demographics

Languages

Each of the region has their own group of dialects. Təstrêəps, spoken in Teschrype, could be argued to be its own language. There are several movements within Mallia to keep the dialects archived and alive.

Religions

The majority of Mallia doesn't associate themselves with a religion, is agnostic, or atheist. A plurality of the population (representing about ~40%) follow Shidamism. A small percentage of the population (~5%) still adhere to the indigenous polytheistic beliefs.

Government and Politics

Government

The government consists of 4 parliaments: the Federal, Lindeburgian, Campebantine, and Teschrypen regional parliaments. The parliaments are famous for the 'shenanigans' that take place within them, such as fights, bill-stealing, and miscellaneous antics. The government itself is infamous for being dysfunctional, rarely being able to form proper coalitions in a decent timeframe.

Elections

Seats are given according to the voting percentage in the province, rather than regional or national.

Subdivisions

Mallia's three regions are each subdivided into three provinces, which theselves are divided into cantons, municipalities and submunicipalities.
