Mujekesi Soyandoze (album)

Mujekesi Soyandoze (Baphian, [xyz], lit. computer music) is the debut solo album by Ari Peiderezek, released by Dusansoyan Records on the 11th of September, 2001 under the pseudonym Soyan Belupo. It was the first album by Peiderezek that was produced by his manager Jezang Dsim, who would later go on to produce his second album Kele Sinceyudefonu Tezhetsogewe. Several critics observed that Mujekesi Soyandoze was crafted from dubstep, pop, funk, art rock and soft rock, and R&B, formulating Peiderezek's signature self-described genre of overpop, of which he would become known for. Mujekesi Soyandoze's lyrical themes include escapism, insecurity, and obsession.

Peiderezek desired to create an album that sounded unique, and at the same time would be recognizable and enjoyable by the average listener. To that end, he created a massive collection of pop, rock, and rave songs that he sampled and manipulated, creating many of the songs on the album. Recording for the album began in February of 2001, being described by Peiderezek as "traumatizing", "awful", and "draining", and concluded in August 2001. Over fifty songs were recorded for the album but only ten were included — the last, Epeselo Hu Le Sozhedele Sode, was recorded in fifteen minutes and became a staple song of Peiderezek's, being re-recorded on every album and mixtape in his career.

Mujekesi Soyandoze was universally lauded by critics, becoming the most acclaimed and sold album of 2001, with the most praise directed towards Peiderezek's presentation of insecurity. The album debuted at the number one spot on the Ukilen Music Top 100; it remains the only debut album from an artist to have achieved this feat. The album won six awards at the 2002 Baphian Music Society Awards, the most any artist has achieved in a single night: Album Of The Year; Best Produced Album; Electronic Album of the Year; Pop Album of the Year; Best Pop Vocals; and Best Electronic Vocals.
