1977 Azkali federal election

Federal elections were held in Azkali on the 24th of June, 1977, to determine the president of Azkali and all 465 seats in the Azkali parliament. As no candidate won a majority in the first round, a runoff election was held, in which Eteri Hairoa defeated Ezi Amour-Kai

Ari Mairitz, president since Azkali's founding in 1967, was ineligeble to run for a third term in office. Ezi Amour-Kai, Mairitz's vice president since the snap 1976 vice-presidential election, ran as Azkali Together's nominee. Mairitz's vice president from 1967 to 1976, Haguo Tainek, ran as an independent candidate, marking the first time a promenant politician ran as an independent candidate in Azkali's history.
