Loremese (lopєmєʒϝ dαzyα, loremesi dazva [lo.rə.ˈmja.zə ˈda.ðə]) is a Mallo-Brausian language native to the Loremese Isles off the eastern coast of Brausia. It is the official language of Loremesia, as well as one of several official languages in Cring. Today, it has approximately 95 million native speakers, and is present to some capacity on most continents of the world due to historical Loremese trade connections and its use as a liturgical language in Saulism.

History

Among the Mallo-Brausian languages, the closest relative to Loremese is Arcadian, and written Loremese, based on early modern dialects, shares many features with Classical Arcadian specifically. Sources differ on specifics, but it is generally accepted that proto-Loremese developed out of a peripheral variant of Common Brausian as spoken in or near the Chikos region before its speakers migrated to the Loremese Isles ca. 1500 BC.
