Ịkẹvẹ's capital city, Ọbaịnvẹ, was founded by the deified Okhundize in 1446 BCE. It was the holy city of gods, and is said to be where the rest of land sprung forth from according to local tradition.
 
In ~750 BCE, the Atọlan script was developed in this city, and used by ancient scribes. Writing before its development was mainly pictographic.
 
The first large-scale skirmishes between the Okpozhiạn people with the Mallians happened around 237 BCE.
 
In 48 AD, the Okpozhiạn people are united under the Ịkẹvẹ empire.
 
In 1897 AD, the Ịkẹvẹ nation was absorbed into [[Mâlbondə|Mallia]], and the people adopted the name Ianragbọn for the nation, which was Mallenized into Jənâgbə.
