The Kzmr calendar (Kzmr: hvmk'asdti) is a system of two interlocking calendars, one lunar and one solar. Traditionally, the lunar aspect of the calendar is used for festivals whereas the solar is used for agricultural purposes.

Solar calendar

The Kzmr solar calendar, known as hvmk'asdti sphk, is a 365-day cycle divided into eight months and four additional days which roughly correspond to the solstices and equinoxes. In the months leading up to a solstice day the days are counted backwards; for instance, the first day of Mfanrh is called Mfanrh 45.

The Kzmr lunar calendar, known as hvmk'asdti ngk, does not actually attempt to reflect the astronomical year, but rather is a 148-day cycle divided into five periods lasting roughly a lunar month.
